about

Il viaggio, s'andhara, le voyage, touki, the journey of Chadal, the Sardinian-Senegalese band that in 2011 undertook a journey between Africa and Europe. Like the bird whose name is inspired, Chadal (Wolof), Marragau/Abiariu (Sardinian).
The album, like a travel notebook, is a combination of Sardinian and Senegalese traditional music, soundscapes, voices and new compositions born in the meeting point of the two (and more) cultures.
The booklet contains travel notes about the experience, the places and the people, that are also visible through the watercolours of the artist Marco Colombaioni.
This album is realized as part of the international cooperation project MultimediArt Senegal financed according to the Law of the Region of Sardinia n.19 / 96 on "Rules on the subject of cooperation with developing countries and international collaboration" and concerns the section Enhancement of cultural heritage and promotion of intercultural dialogue ".
